The basic principle of the SH mechanical friction joints is the combination between a horizontal taper and a thread, realized between the slotted inner and a slotted or unslotted outer component of the bushing. By tightning screws in the nut, which is put on the inner component, the outer component is subjected to axial preasure and compelled to "climb" up the thread on the inner component. The slotted design of at least one component guarantees for radial expansion.
