The use of a linear motor enables direct linear motion. Contrary to rotary load transmission, for instance with toothed belts or spindle drives, this avoids the transmission of natural frequencies or torques. Moreover, the Siemens 1FN3 linear motor provides non-contact and thus frictionless load transmission. An integrated linear measurement system is used for precise positioning and speed regulation.
